1316 degrees awarded in Convocation-2022 at Modi College Patiala
Multani Mal Modi College today organized Convocation-2022 for distribution of Post-graduate and graduate degree. This convocation was dedicated to 75th Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. Dr. Arvind, Vice Chancellor, Punjabi University, Patiala was Chief Guest. Prof. Gurcharan Singh, Controller of Examination, Punjabi University, Patiala and Dr. Dharam Singh, Registrar, Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University, Patiala were the guest of honour.
The convocation was inaugurated with Saraswati Vandana and Shabad Gayan. Guard of honour was presented to the Chief Guest and other guests by the NCC cadets of the college.
College Principal Dr. Khushvinder Kumar welcomed the chief guest and graduates and presented a brief report about the academics, Sports, extra and other achievements of the college. He said that our college is not only imparting world class educational facilities to its students but also committed to develop them as future nation builders and socially conscious citizens.
In his convocation address the chief guest Dr. Arvind said that new educational frameworks and knowledge resources are creating new possibilities in technical fields, information hubs and communication areas. He motivated the students to focus their potential energies towards reconstructing a more humane and democratic society.
Guest of honour Dr. Gurcharan Singh said that in this era of informational highways it is important to sort out the socially relevant information which may help in our life goals.
Dr. Dharam Singh Sandhu congratulated the students and motivated them to work hard for achievement of success in their professional and personal lives.
On the second day the convocation was addressed Prof. Ashwani Bhalla, Deputy Director (Colleges). He congratulated the newly graduates and said that they should become job creators instead of job seekers. He motivated the students for collectively work for nation building. In his address, Dr. Gurdip Singh Batra, Dean, Academic Affairs, Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University, Patiala said that education is capable of transforming millions of lives and it is our responsibility to dedicate our knowledge and skills for our society.
Prof. Surindra Lal, Member of management Committee also congratulated the fresh graduates and asked them to dedicate their knowledge and skills for betterment of society.
Dr. Ashwani Sharma, Registrar and Dr. Ajit Kumar, Controller of Examination of the college informed that 571 for the session 2019-20 and 745 for the session 2020-21 graduates and post- graduate degrees were conferred in the faculties of Arts, Commerce, Science, Management and Computer Sciences.
Deans of the faculties Prof. Shailendra Sidhu (Arts), Prof. Neena Sareen (Commerce), Dr. Ashwani Sharma (Life Sciences), Dr. Rajeev Sharma (Physical Sciences) and Dr. Neeraj Goyal, Head, Business and Management and Prof. Vinay Garg, Head, Computer Science presented the students for the award of degrees.
The Chief Guest was felicitated by Prof. Surindra Lal honourable member of the Modi Education Society, Paitala and Principal of the college Dr. Khushvinder Kumar.
Prof. Shailendra Sidhu presented the vote of thanks. Dr. Ganesh Sethi, Dr. Harmohan Sharma and Dr. Bhanavi Wadhawan conducted the stage.

ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਵਿਖੇ ਅੱਜ ਸਲਾਨਾ ਕਨਵੋਕੇਸ਼ਨ ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਇਹ ਕਨਵੋਕੇਸ਼ਨ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੀ ਅਜ਼ਾਦੀ ਦੀ 75ਵੀਂ ਵਰ੍ਹੇਗੰਢ ‘ਅਜ਼ਾਦੀ ਦਾ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਮਹਾਂਉਤਸਵ’ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਰਪਿਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ। ਇਸ ਕਨਵੋਕੇਸ਼ਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੁੱਖ ਮਹਿਮਾਨ ਵਜੋਂ ਡਾ. ਅਰਵਿੰਦ, ਵਾਈਸ ਚਾਂਸਲਰ, ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਿਰਕਤ ਕੀਤੀ। ਇਸ ਕਨਵੋਕੇਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਦਿਨ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਗੁਰਚਰਨ ਸਿੰਘ, ਕੰਟਰੋਲਰ ਆਫ਼ ਇੰਗਜ਼ਾਮੀਨੇਸ਼ਨ, ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਅਤੇ ਡਾ. ਧਰਮ ਸਿੰਘ, ਰਜਿਸਟਰਾਰ, ਜਗਤ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇਵ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਟੇਟ ਓਪਨ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੋਏ। ਇਸ ਕਨਵੋਕੇਸ਼ਨ ਦੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤ ਸਰਸਵਤੀ ਵੰਦਨਾ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਗਾਇਣ ਨਾਲ ਹੋਈ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਐਨ.ਸੀ.ਸੀ. ਵਿੰਗ ਨੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਮਹਿਮਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗਾਰਡ ਆਫ਼ ਆਨਰ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਕਾਲਜ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਖੁਸ਼ਵਿੰਦਰ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਮੁੱਖ-ਮਹਿਮਾਨ ਦਾ ਸਵਾਗਤ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਧਾਈ ਦਿੰਦਿਆਂ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੀਆ ਵਿੱਦਿਅਕ, ਖੇਡਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਹਿ-ਪਾਠਕ੍ਰਮ ਆਧਾਰਿਤ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀਆਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਇੱਕ ਸੰਖੇਪ ਰਿਪੋਰਟ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਦੇ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਵਿਸ਼ਵ-ਪੱਧਰੀ ਸੁਵਿਧਾਵਾਂ ਮੁਹੱਈਆ ਕਰਵਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਸਗੋਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਦੇ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰ ਨਿਰਮਾਤਾਵਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰ ਨਾਗਰਿਕਾਂ ਵਜੋਂ ਵਿਕਸਿਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਵੀ ਵਚਨਬੱਧ ਹੈ।
ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਗਰੈਜੂਏਟ ਅਤੇ ਪੋਸਟ- ਗਰੈਜੂਏਟ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਧਾਈ ਦਿੰਦਿਆਂ ਵਾਈਸ ਚਾਂਸਲਰ ਡਾ. ਅਰਵਿੰਦ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਕਨਵੋਕੇਸ਼ਨ ਭਾਸ਼ਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਨਵੇਂ ਸਿੱਖਿਆਂ-ਢਾਂਚਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਗਿਆਨ-ਪੱਧਤੀਆਂ ਕਾਰਨ ਤਕਨੀਕੀ ਖੇਤਰਾਂ, ਸੂਚਨਾ ਦੇ ਅਦਾਨ-ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਚਾਰ ਦੇ ਖੇਤਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਪਾਰ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਸੰਭਾਵਨਾਵਾਂ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਹਨ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਇਸਤੇਮਾਲ ਮਨੁੱਖਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਦਰਪੇਸ਼ ਚੁਨੌਤੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੱਲ ਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਤਬਦੀਲੀ ਲਿਆਉਣ ਲਈ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਕਨਵੋਕੇਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਦਿਨ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਮਹਿਮਾਨ ਵਜੋਂ ਬੋਲਦਿਆਂ ਡਾ. ਗੁਰਚਰਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਆਧੁਨਿਕ ਸੂਚਨਾ ਮਾਧਿਅਮਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਇੰਨੀ ਵੱਡੀ ਪੱਧਰ ਤੇ ਸੂਚਨਾ ਭੰਡਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਪਲਬਧ ਕਰਵਾਏ ਜਾਣ ਦੇ ਇਸ ਦੌਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਅਹਿਮ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਗਿਆਨ ਨੂੰ ਗ੍ਰਹਿਣ ਕਰਨਾ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਜ਼ਰੂਰੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਿਥੇ ਜੀਵਣ-ਮੁੱਲਾਂ ਦਾ ਇਮਾਨਦਾਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਨਿਭਾਅ ਕਰ ਸਕੀਏ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਬੋਲਦਿਆਂ ਡਾ. ਧਰਮ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ ਵਿੱਦਿਅਕ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਲਈ ਵਧਾਈ ਦਿੰਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਅੱਜ ਵੀ ਵਿਅਕਤੀਗਤ ਤੇ ਪੇਸ਼ਾਵਰ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਫਲਤਾ ਦਾ ਮੂਲ ਮੰਤਰ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਮਿਹਨਤ ਹੀ ਹੈ।
ਕਨਵੋਕੇਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਦੂਜੇ ਦਿਨ ਦੇ ਕਨਵੋਕੇਸ਼ਨ ਭਾਸ਼ਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਅਸ਼ਵਨੀ ਭੱਲਾ, ਡਿਪਟੀ ਡੀ.ਪੀ.ਆਈ. (ਕਾਲਜਾਂ) ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਧਾਈ ਦਿੰਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਸੀ ਤਾਲਮੇਲ ਨਾਲ ਨੌਕਰੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਕੰਮ ਦੇ ਮੌਕਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਨਿਰਮਾਣ ਕਰਨ ਵੱਲ ਸੇਧਿਤ ਹੋਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰ ਉਸਾਰੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਰੋਲ ਫ਼ੈਸਲਾਕੁਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਡਾ. ਗੁਰਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਬਤਰਾ, ਡੀਨ ਅਕਾਦਮਿਕ ਮਾਮਲੇ, ਜਗਤ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇਵ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਟੇਟ ਓਪਨ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਬੋਧਨ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੱਖਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਬਦੀਲ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਤੇ ਹੁਨਰ ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਭਲਾਈ ਤੇ ਖ਼ਰਚ ਕਰਨ।
ਡਾ. ਅਸ਼ਵਨੀ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ, ਕਾਲਜ ਰਜਿਸਟਰਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਡਾ. ਅਜੀਤ ਕੁਮਾਰ, ਕੰਟਰੋਲਰ ਪ੍ਰੀਖਿਆਵਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਕਨਵੋਕੇਸ਼ਨ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਸੈਸ਼ਨ 2019-20 ਦੀਆਂ 571 ਅਤੇ ਸੈਸ਼ਨ 2020-21 ਦੀਆਂ 745 ਆਰਟਸ, ਕਾਮਰਸ, ਕੰਪਿਊਟਰ ਸਾਇੰਸ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਨੇਜਮੈਂਟ ਖੇਤਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਗ੍ਰੈਜੂਏਟ ਅਤੇ ਪੋਸਟ-ਗ੍ਰੈਜੂਏਟ ਡਿਗਰੀਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ ਹਨ।
ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਸ਼ੈਲੇਦਰਾ ਸਿੱਧੂ (ਡੀਨ, ਫੈਕਲਟੀ ਆਫ਼ ਆਰਟਸ), ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਨੀਨਾ ਸਰੀਨ (ਡੀਨ, ਕਾਮਰਸ), ਡਾ. ਅਸ਼ਵਨੀ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ (ਡੀਨ, ਫੈਕਲਟੀ ਆਫ਼ ਲਾਈਫ਼ ਸਾਇੰਸਿਜ਼), ਡਾ. ਰਾਜੀਵ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ (ਡੀਨ, ਫੈਕਲਟੀ ਆਫ਼ ਫਿਜ਼ੀਕਲ ਸਾਇੰਸਿਜ਼), ਡਾ. ਨੀਰਜ ਗੋਇਲ (ਮੁਖੀ, ਫੈਕਲਟੀ ਆਫ਼ ਮੈਨੇਜਮੈਂਟ ਸਾਇੰਸਿਜ਼) ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਵਿਨੇ ਗਰਗ (ਮੁਖੀ, ਕੰਪਿਊਟਰ ਸਾਇੰਸ) ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਡਿਗਰੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਕੀ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਦੇ ਮੈਂਬਰਾਂ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਸੁਰਿੰਦਰ ਲਾਲ ਨੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਮਹਿਮਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਸਨਮਾਨਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਨਹਿਰੇ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਲਈ ਸ਼ੁਭ ਕਾਮਨਾਵਾਂ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ।
ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਸਟੇਜ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਨ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀ ਡਾ. ਗਣੇਸ਼ ਸੇਠੀ, ਡਾ. ਹਰਮੋਹਨ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ ਅਤੇ ਡਾ. ਭਾਨਵੀ ਵਧਾਵਨ ਨੇ ਬਾਖ਼ੂਬੀ ਨਿਭਾਈ। ਕਨਵੋਕੇਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਅੰਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਦਾ ਮਤਾ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਸ਼ੈਲੇਦਰ ਸਿੱਧੂ ਨੇ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ।
